After an informative tour of the colourful workshop, you can spend the afternoon browsing the city’s Maasai Market and Cultural Heritage Centre for traditional handicrafts.

Maasai Market is a sensational sensory experience. Thrust into a slice of whirling Tanzanian life have your wits about you and prepare to barter. A fabulously lively atmosphere offers an abundance of sellers peddling their wares of exotic fruit, coffee, nuts and spices. If you are on the hunt for carefully crafted African art, sculptures and artifacts, head to the Cultural Heritage craft mall for the best pieces in the city.

Mined only in Tanzania, the beautiful blue December birthstone, known as tanzanite, is a unique souvenir of your East African adventure and a must-have in any jewellery lover’s collection. The Tanzanite Experience is a 1 to 2-hour tour that introduces the history of this magnificent mineral, including how it was discovered and first mined.

You will enjoy the opportunity to see for yourself how each precious gem is graded and cut. Savour the opportunity to ogle tanzanite up close and handle rough and polished stones. Once you have a true appreciation of this gem, you can spoil yourself by purchasing a genuine, well cut and certified tanzanite piece at a charming boutique store. The Tanzanite Experience boutiques are brimming with beautiful displays dedicated to the fascinating blue violet gemstone.

It is said that tanzanite is “1,000 times rarer than diamonds” and, found at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, is incredibly exclusive to Tanzania. Exhibiting magnificent blue and violet hues, tanzanite was first discovered in 1967. World famous New York jewellers “Tiffany & Co”, declared it “the most beautiful blue stone to be discovered in 2,000 years”, and named it Tanzanite. A must have vibrant blue gem for your be jeweled trinket box.

During this full day excursion, you will also get a chance to explore Bangata Waterfalls which is on the foothill of Mount Meru. You will be lead through a number of small agricultural villages with lush landscapes, where the locals sell a variety of goods such as coffee, maize, bananas and other types of fruits and vegetables. Upon arrival at the waterfall entrance, you will be welcomed with a beautiful landscape filled with avocado plantation and fish ponds, where you’ll get a chance to learn about the cultivation till the time they are ready to be exported. On the way as you descend to the waterfall, you’ll get a chance to feed the fishes on their large fish ponds before reaching the magnificent natural wonder. Enjoy the cool waterfall mist and relax in a beautifully shaded area while taking in the sites. Be sure to bring your camera to take some breathtaking photos!

Really interesting tour. We went to Tarangeri and stayed the night at the park. First day we drove around but did not manage to see any elephants but the next day we got very close. Overall our guides were excellent giving us history and sharing their experiences with us with a healthy dose of humor- always great. Thank you!

Tips for your guide and cook. Industry recommendations are $15 a day to the cook and $20 a day to your guide divided by everyone in the vehicle.

Payment policy

To reserve this tour, a payment of 70% of the total price must be made at the time of reservation. The balance of 30% can be made on arrival in Tanzania, prior to the departure of your tour.

Your deposit can either be made by means of a Bank Transfer, with the addition of a 45 US Dollar fee, or by Credit Card, which incurs an additional bank charge of 3.5%.

Either the final payment can be made through Credit Card, again with the addition of a 3.5% bank charge, or in cash in US Dollars (US Dollar Bills should not be older than year 2009).

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellation of a holiday must be made in writing and is effective from the date we receive the written notification. Cancellation charges are expressed at a percentage of quoted price as follows –

If the reason for cancellation is covered under the terms of your insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim the cancellation charges from your insurance company. Notwithstanding the above, if we have issued your domestic airline tickets and you choose at any time to cancel them then the cancelling for Domestic Tickets will be 100%.
